中外农民创业论坛专家演讲概要
李凯，男，52岁，中共党员，辽宁省北宁市闾阳镇后城村人，北宁市大棚蔬菜技术协会会长。先后被授予“全国劳动模范”、“全国优秀科技工作者”、“全国科普工作标兵”等称号。
演讲题目：普及科学技术 发展现代农业
演讲摘要：
读中学时的李凯，对植物学很感兴趣，立志在农业领域有所作为。1968年，他回到家乡北宁市闾阳镇务农。1984年4月，他联络附近24名种菜能手，成立了辽宁省全省第一个民间合作组织——北宁大棚蔬菜技术研究会(后改为协会)。从此，他便全身心地投入到蔬菜新品种、新技术的研发推广之中。
1987年春，李凯利用进京参加全国首届农村科普工作会议的机会，走访科研单位，拜访农业专家，求教大棚茄果植株徒长、落花掉果的解决办法。他的诚恳态度感动了中科院的植保专家，与他一起前往实地查看，发现是由于高温多湿造成的，问题很快得以解决。此后，他们还共同研制出“矮丰灵”、“膨大剂”等植物生长调节物质，为棚室西红柿、辣椒、紫长茄等反季栽培早产早丰高效益创造了条件。后来，这位高级工程师3次破例提名让他参加全国植物生长调节物质年会，并以惟一农民代表身份被推举为理事会成员，还被破格晋升为高级农艺师。目前他已推广新品种100多个，开发新技术80多项，辐射周边7市15县区。
李凯以基地为载体自行设计、制成适宜北方生态的高保温日光节能温室，保温性好，四季皆宜，与自制卷帘机、放风机和旋耕机配套应用，提高了机械化作业程度；繁育成功绿宁系列黄瓜，“黑又亮”长茄，特大牛角椒等果菜良种，提高了棚栽蔬菜的效益。
他创业的协会会员人数比创建之初增加20倍，达到500名，发展分会21个，带动科技示范户5000多个。

Mr. Li Kai, 52 years old, comes from Houcheng village, Liaoning province. Now he is the chairman of Beining Vegetable Technology Association. He has been awarded many honors such as “National Model Worker”, “National Outstanding Scientific and Technical Worker”, “Top Model Workerd in Science Popularization ” etc.
Title of the Speech: Developing modern agriculture by popularizing technology Abstract:
When he was in the middle school, Li Kai was very interested in botany and aspired to establish himself in the field of agriculture. In 1968, he returned to his hometown and became a farmer. In April 1984, he established the first Non-official cooperative organization in Liaoning Province----Beining Vegetable Technology Research Board. From then on, he devoted himself to research and promotion of new type vegetables and new vegetable technique.
In the spring of 1987, Li Kai went to Beijing to attend the first National Meeeting About Science Popularization In Rural Areas, and got to visit scientific research institutions and agronomists. He made full use of the chance to consult the experts over the wild growth and flower shattering in greenhouses. The experts in Chinese Academy of Sciences were moved by his sincere attitude. With the help of the experts, the problem was solved quickly. After that, with their mutual effort, they developed some chemical plant growth regulators, such as “Aifengling” “Pengdaji” etc. Afterwards, as the only farmer representative, he has been invited to attend the National Plant Growth Adjustment Matter Annual Meeting three times and elected as the council member and entitled as senior agronomist. Up till now, he has popularized more than 100 new varieties and more than 80 new techniques, reaching out to 7 cities (15 counties).
Mr Li has also independently designed and developed a typical kind of greenhouse quite feasible in the north part of China. Equipped with special machines developed by him, the mechanization in the greenhouse has been greatly improved. He also bred a series of Lvning Cucumber varieties, Heyoulian eggplant variety, and other fine fruit and vegetable varieties.
The number of his association members now is 20folds of that at the very beginning and reached 500 people, affiliated subbranches over 21, leading over 5000 households to carry out farming practice.
